The phosphate ions in saliva contaminate and effectively take up the binding sites on zirconia and non precious metal after intra oral try-in. If not removed this will affect the bonding of all zirconia and metal bonding systems that rely on 10-MDP as the active ingredient.

Katana cleaner is an MDP salt suspension. This class of cleaners is used to remove the phosphate impurities that form after saliva contamination by a process of competitive bonding. This leaves the surface fresh and ready to bond and is especially useful when alternative means of removal (e.g. air abrasion) are unavailable.

Katana cleaner can also be used to clean lithium disilicate can other ceramics after intraoral try-in. Here the main benefit is that it is also excellent at removing any blood contamination and other debris. 

Suitable for both Intra- and extra-oral use. Katana cleaner can simply be placed for 10 seconds and then rinsed away to reduce surface contamination of indirect restoration and improve subsequent bond strengths
