The carbide burs hold some significant advantages over traditional steel rosehead burs. Firstly the bur has a narrow shank allowing better visual access to the cutting tip, Second the bur cuts the carious dentine tissue very cleanly and efficiently, finally the burs are suitable for autoclaving and can be reused.
We use this small diameter carbide burs for carefully clearing and refining the ADJ preparation. We also use them for placing grooves in anterior composites.
