Choosing a speed-increasing handpiece

Start with your existing motor and the type of irrigation you need. Then compare the standard and compact head formats and decide whether you need illumination. A 1:5 contra-angle is motor driven; a turbine coupling alone does not establish compatibility.

Questions before buying

What does 1:5 mean?

It is the speed-increasing gear ratio between the motor and the handpiece. The permitted motor and bur speeds depend on the exact model and its instructions for use.

Does every model have the same motor connection?

Do not assume compatibility from the ratio alone. Check the motor, connection, irrigation and lighting requirements for the model you choose.

Which model needs an external water supply?

The external-water 1:5 model requires a connected external irrigation supply and sterile disposable tubing, sold separately.

What support is included?
